a two-week long workshop ending in public work presentation
International summer workshop "Contemporary Theatre – Mind and Technique" was created from our need for a meeting of different cultures in an extraordinary space of open mind, of research and human approach to the work in theatre. Workshop is open for actors, directors and all theatre people who want to expand their knowledge of contemporary theatre, as well as for people who are not engaged in theatre professionally, but want to get introduced to contemporary theatre through specific work of Plavo pozorište.
This workshop is a two-week-long voyage through a form of research process, starting from reasons for creation and questions induced by personal experience of participants to enriching and reviving of their inner world, which is being materialized with the help of technique. The aim of this work, which will end in the public presentation, is to share our vision of contemporary theatre as a place of self-researching, of communication and human touch with life, not with its imitation.
The workshop is led by Nenad Čolić, director of Plavo pozorište, and assisted by actors and musicians of Plavo pozorište.

I SING LIKE A BIRD is a verse from Goethe’s poem ``The Singer``. Fifteen years old Herman Hesse recited this poem while studying and serving in the evangelistic monastery of Maulbronn when his tutor criticized him for reciting it too proudly and too freely. Young Hesse wrote it down in a letter to his parents from which it can be seen that this was one of the first barbs of the repression of the outer world, which was painfully taken by truth and freedom loving sensual being of Herman Hesse ...

"I Sing As If I Was a Bird" is a co-production between Plavo pozoriste and international theatre festival Stadt Deiner Liebe from the city of Halle, Germany. The festival is organized on the occasion of 1200 years of festivities of the city of Halle.
Belgrade premiere of the performance "I Sing As If I Was a Bird" will take place in October in BITEF Theatre...
