Cultural Centre REX
Centre for Cultural Decontamination
During Two Open Weeks Plavo pozoriste opens the doors of its theatrical laboratory to professional and semi-professional actors, directors and dancers from Central European countries. During those two weeks theatre laboratory becomes a place of European intercultural communication. It is an opportunity to meet with work of Plavo pozoriste through series of events: workshops, meetings, performances, presentations. The aim of the program is to share with participants Plavo pozoriste vision of theatre as place of self-researching, place of communication, space of open mind where some important things about the world that surrounds us can be said. In the middle of our attention is man/woman as a human being. Even the actor is a human being, and afterwards an actor. Theatre is a place of human touch with life, not with life’s imitation.

Central European Initiative (CEI)
The Central European Initiative (CEI) was established in Budapest on 11 November 1989 as the first forum promoting regional cooperation among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Founded by Austria, Italy, Hungary and Yugoslavia, over the years the CEI membership has increased to 18 Member States, 9 of which currently belong to the European Union (EU).
Since its inception, the CEI has represented a platform for intensified multilateral cooperation among its Member States. It aims at achieving cohesion in areas of mutual interest and at assisting its non-EU member countries to consolidate
their economic and social development. Once predominantly oriented towards policy dialogue, the CEI has progressively added economic growth and human development as pillars of cooperation with a focus on capacity building, sharing of experience and know-how transfer.
Areas of cooperation
In line with the priorities envisaged by its Plan of Action, the CEI operates in the following areas:
- Climate, Environment and Sustainable Energy
- Enterprise Development including Tourism
- Human Resource Development
- Information Society and Media
- Intercultural Cooperation including Minorities
- Multimodal Transport

Commentaries of project participants about Two Open Weeks 2009:
Zeljka, Croatia
Working and professional atmosphere and dedication to work of participants made me possible to explore my till then unknown possibilities connected to the work of actor on him/herself, but also connected to the work of actor in the group, and also not connected to actor’s work. The workshop made me conscious about this: the provocation needs to last all along the performer is on the stage.
The words which for me are light motifs of the work are lasting and endurance.
The trainers gave their knowledge, motivation and practice to the participants, and they shown us how things are in fact simple in their existence. All exercises were not technically difficult, but they had a dose of positive craziness and this moment was a challenge for spectators and surprise for performer as well.
Informal evening gatherings with the organizers opened for me some new perspective.
Milena, Serbia
The work in Two Open Weeks was first of all serious, good in idea and practice. Trainers were very experienced and greatly prepared and in every moment they knew where and how to lead participants, which is most important for developing of trust with participants and good cooperation. Preparation and engagement is something what you cannot pretend about. Also their approach to participants was also friendly, but strong, which is of vital importance for keeping discipline and principles of work in a completely new group consisting of people who don’t know each other.
For me this was a new experience, and I recommend it to everyone who would like to learn something new, not only about specific work of Plavo pozoriste but about your self as well. In this sense, the workshop was also psychological and not only theatrical (if it is possible at al to divide those two).
The organization was remarkable, starting from communication before the program and time table which was respected, to program of gatherings, and care which participants from abroad had during their stay in Belgrade.
Josipa, Croatia
All in all, I am very satisfied with the work and allover organization. I enjoyed the work, people from Plavo pozoriste succeeded to motivate me to try to overcome some of my performing habits and limitations. It is important that we also got introduced in theoretical background of the work. Personally I have learnt many new things, I have never worked with songs, resonators and isolations of the movements the way we did it in workshop.
Ela, Poland
The work sessions were very well organized. It connected practical and theoretical sessions, which allowed not only to get to know exercises and general methodology used by Plavo Pozoriste, but also to place the practical experiences in a wider context of the contemporary theatre world.
Teachers proved to be very professional, helpful and open to answer to various subjective difficulties and needs of participants.
It was organized very professionally. Time was well used and the program well composed.
Andrea, Italy
The theatrical workshop “Two open weeks“ led by Plavo Pozoriste during the two last weeks of July 2009 was a great moment of artistic exploration and personal meeting.
In fact, the schedule of the work gave the possibility to all the participants to touch different aspects of the group reality: the training, the performance and the social group life.
The training was divided in two big session, the first oriented to unblock and control the emotions, the second focused one specific techniques for the creation of materials of the actor; both this sessions were very interesting and guided with a deep professional attitude.
The vision of three performance of the group was very positive and really complementary to the training. Moreover the personal contact with the actors and all the group of Plavo was very good and familiar.
Finally I hope to have again the possibility to work with them.
